| Preschool Science Projects: Outdoor Exploration |
| Nature or outdoor exploration is a great way to introduce science to your child. Since playing outdoors is something that your toddler or preschooler likely loves, introducing science to them this way should be fun and exciting, from the viewpoint of your child. Preschool Science Projects with Nature • You can examine all of the rocks outside and look for fossils in those rocks or even everyday impressions. • You and your child can collect leaves and flowers from outside and discuss them. You may even want to have them take a few items inside and discuss what happens with them when they are taken away from their natural elements. • In addition to flowers and leaves, you will likely find an unlimited number of insects outdoors. These bugs may be fun to your child; therefore, you may want to examine them. You may even want to have your child record their findings in picture drawings. • You and your toddler or preschooler can also plant your own flowers, namely as seeds, and watch them grow. This is great if you would like to have your child learn about nature indoors. You can record your findings and keep track of the time that it takes their seeds to grow. |
