Christmas Craft Project for Kids: Paper Plate Snowman
Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate Christmas and winter with your child? Why not make a paper plate snowman. This preschool craft project is fun, easy, and cheap!
Supplies You Need: * Paper Plates (1 Large and 1 Small) * 2 Sheets of Colored Construction Paper * 4 Popsicle Craft Sticks * Scissors * Glue Stick * Tape * Marker, Pencil or Crayon * Craft Eyes (Optional)
1 - Glue a small paper plate to the top of a large paper plate. This is the snowman’s body. If you do not have a small paper plate, you can cut a larger one down to size. Tape should be used to provide extra reinforcement. 2 - Trace and cutout a hat for the snowman on a piece of colored construction paper. Depending on your child’s cutting skills, you may need to do this step for them. 3 - Glue the snowman’s hat to the top of the small paper plate. 4 - Cut out four or five small circles on colored construction paper (black works great). These will be the buttons for your child’s snowman. 5 - Glue the small circle buttons onto the snowman’s body (the large paper plate). 6 - Draw a face on the snowman. If you have craft eyes, your child can glue these on. Otherwise, just have them draw the eyes with the rest of the face. 7 - Tape two of the popsicle crafts sticks to the back of the snowman’s body (large paper plate) on the back. Tape works a lot better than glue. You can also take the two extra popsicle sticks and cut them to create fingers.
