One of my favorite websites to leaf around from time to time is Magic Cabin. Talk about childhood dreams come true! This online retailer as everything and everything that a little boy or girl could ask for. One cool product that I instantly fell in love with was the GardenFort Backyard Play Space. I mean….check this thing out!
According to the Magic Cabin website, the GardenFort measures 58 inches in length, 58 inches in width and 48 inches in height. It is recommended for ages 3 and up. Your purchase includes the supporting frame work and three varieties of seeds.
You and your child can plant the seeds around the base of the structure and they’ll grow! The end result is what you see pictured. How neat is that? Imagine your child’s joy, surprise and excitement as their backyard “fort,” or “playspace,” begins to grow around them!
Talk about a perfect addition to your family’s garden!

Yesterday, we took our Girl Scout troop on a trip to the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. Although my troop is a Brownie troop, of 2nd and 3rd graders, I can’t recommend the museum enough for parents of children of all ages…including preschoolers.
In fact, this was our fourth time visiting and all three prior visits were when Sarah was 4 years old or younger.
As I’m sure you can imagine, I am still exhausted after our day-long adventure. I’ll try and get a review up later this week!
Summer will be here before you know it. For many kids, that means Croc time! My daughter has her favorite pair of Crocs, which won’t fit her again this year. Time for a replacement!
We call her Crocs “creek shoes,” since that is when she is usually wearing them; playing with us in the small stream behind our house. Any other shoes she wears, they take two days or more to dry out before they can be worn again!
Although Crocs can be purchased from a number of retail locations, you tend to find the best selection right on the Crocs website! For children’s summer shoes, prices start out around $19.99 and typically go up to $39.99 in price.

If your child loves to read, you’ll want to consider making this fun and easy preschool Easter craft project. What child doesn’t love a bookmark that they created themselves?! Best of all? It is a cheap Easter craft project for kids…you likely already have all the supplies needed at home!
- Popsicle Stick
- White Construction Paper
- Makers or Paint
Step #1: Have your child (or you) draw an Easter egg outline on the paper. This can be any size; big or small.
Step #2: Color or paint the Easter egg. This is much easier before cutting to eliminate paint/markers making a mess on your table.
Step #3: Cut out the Easter egg.
Step #4: Glue the Easter egg cutout to the popsicle stick. We used the large wide craft stick because it gives you a bigger surface for the egg cutout to adhere too.
Step #5: Let dry and then enjoy!
